Prior to forming Land Information Services, Wade served as Chesapeake Energy’s Vice President, Land Administration, where he managed Lease Records, Division Orders, GIS, Owner Relations, Corporate transaction documentation and Well Information Management. There, he facilitated the needs of the end user and the capabilities of the IT staff. This experience, together with earlier career experience as a Land Manager, Landman and Lease Analyst, has been leveraged to provide solutions to companies like SandRidge Energy, Continental Resources, Concho Resources, Apache, Le Norman Energy and Chaparral Energy.
Wade’s publishing credits include various articles published in The American Oil and Gas Reporter, World Oil and Landman. He also contributed to the fourth edition of Brock’s Petroleum Accounting Principles, Procedures & Issues. Wade is a CPL and conducted his undergraduate studies at the University of Texas and obtained his MBA at Oklahoma City University.
Prior to joining Land Information Services, Jim was a Supervisor in Chesapeake Energy’s Land Administration department where he served as an advisor for several processes within Land, Lease Records, Division Orders and Treasury. Jim also managed the support for all major monetization transactions and mortgages for A&D, Land, Treasury, Finance and Reservoir Engineering. In addition to pre-close support, he also interfaced directly with external clients providing services and solutions for due diligence, transfer of data and data conversion. Jim helped design and implement workflow solutions that benefited interdepartmental communication and data integrity. Jim received his Bachelor’s degree in Finance with an Accounting minor at Oklahoma State University.
Director of Lease Records
Before joining Land Information Services, Amy was a Supervisor in Land Administration at Chesapeake Energy, responsible for multiple teams including ownership transfers, owner number set-up and maintenance, and payment processing; including the suspense, billing, 1099 and escheat. She was also charged with the minimum royalty review and Federal, State and BIA payments and reporting. Prior to her time at Chesapeake she spent 15 years of her career at Mustang Fuel Corporation as a Lease Analyst handling all aspects of lease records. Amy is active in both OCAPLTA and NALTA and is a CPLTA. She has experience with Artesia, MS Dynamics LandWorks, Quorum Land Suite, P2 Land and LandVantage systems.
Director of Business Development
Drew Hopkins brings more than 13 years of experience of owner relations management, land administration maintenance, and training consultation to his role as Director of Business Development. Drew’s primary focus is to help build awareness of Land Information Service’s unique capabilities among prospective clients, and develop and maintain relationships with current clients. Drew is an advocate of the company’s vision to enrich the performance of organizations and to positively impact the industry by providing premier software solutions.Prior to joining Land Information Services, Drew spent 12 years at Chesapeake Energy Corporation where he served as the Manager of Owner Relations and the company’s Communications Specialist. Drew has been featured in multiple speaking events across the nation where he was able to give presentations on building stronger owner relations and navigating through high stress business conditions. Drew graduated from Oklahoma Christian University where he studied Business Management then went on to gain a Masters in Energy and Legal Studies from the Oklahoma City University.
Malori comes to LIS with extensive in-house Landman experience managing assets and drilling projects in Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Texas. In her years as a Landman and Team Lead for Chesapeake Energy, she oversaw the development of over 100,000 mineral acres and approximately 300 producing properties. Most recently, she has leveraged her industry knowledge to management and consulting roles with small to mid-size minerals management clients. Her expertise lies in project management, acquisitions and divestitures, due diligence, and minerals management, as well as the supervision of conventional and unconventional oil and gas drilling projects. Malori is a CPL and is licensed to practice law in the state of Oklahoma. She received her undergraduate degree in Accounting from Missouri Southern State University and completed her MBA and JD at The University of Tulsa.
Sr. Land Coordinator
Prior to joining Land Information Services, Melissa was a Team Lead and Sr. Lease Analyst for Chesapeake Energy, working primarily Eastern Division assets, with responsibility for all aspects of lease and contract maintenance. Melissa is a native West Virginian and a graduate of Marshall University. She has been working in the oil and gas industry for 15 years and is a member of OCAPLTA and NALTA, with proven skills in cradle to grave lease records management. Melissa has experience with Artesia, Enertia, MS Dynamics, Quorum Land Suite, P2 Land and LandVantage systems.
Lease Records Coordinator
Before joining Land Information Services, Amy was the Mid-on Lease Records Coordinator with Sand Ridge Energy and a Land Data Analyst with Devon Energy. Amy was instrumental in documenting Lease Records process and procedures as well as training Land Administration staff. She has worked in the oil and gas industry for over 10 years with a focus on lease management. Amy has experience in Excalibur, Enertia, Tobin Land Suite and Quorum Land Suite.
Lease Records Coordinator
Amber began her 19 year career in oil and gas as a Land Assistant for Hal French, LLC where she attained 8 years of hands on experience in all aspects of leasing from the initial record check to testifying at pooling hearings. During this time Amber also attended the University of Central Oklahoma where she received a Masters Degree in Management and Administration. Amber transitioned from her role with Hal French to a Land Analyst at Dominion Exploration & Production, LLC for 1.5 years and then was given the opportunity to join a small start-up company, RKI Exploration & Production, LLC, where she spent 9 years in growing levels of responsibility for the lease records department. As the Lease records Manager, Amber was responsible for maintenance, obligation payments and reporting for leasehold in the Rockies, Permian and Anadarko Basin assets. Amber has experience with Tobin Land Suite, SSI, Quorum Land Suite, and LandVantage systems.
Division Order Supervisor
Cheryl is a Certified Division Order Analyst (CDOA) with over 20 years industry experience. Cheryl’s experience includes the implantation of a new land and accounting system and work flow process implementation, as well as routine and project Division Order supervision. She has handled all aspects of well set up and maintenance, including detailed analysis of title opinions, curative and other legal documents necessary to determine divisions of interest, as well as SOX compliance and audits issues. Her duties have also encompassed revenue maintenance and distribution, ONRR reporting, acquisition integration, owner relations, escheat reporting, software testing, and interest discrepancy resolution. While her main work experience is in Oklahoma and Texas, she has worked other states such as Arkansas, Kansas, West Virginia and Louisiana. Cheryl has experience in AS400, Solomon IV, SSI, Tobin, Oracle, Enertia, Excalibur, BOLO and LandVantage
Prior to joining the Land Information Services team, Darren was a Title Landman in Chesapeake Energy’s Land department. There he delegated workflow, created HBP Ownership Reports, and performed curative due diligence in Oklahoma’s Granite Wash, Ohio’s Utica Shale, and West Virginia’s Marcellus Shale. He then transferred within Chesapeake to be a Landman in Texas’ Barnett Shale. There he managed his Area of Responsibility, which consisted of over 200 operated wells, including all permitting, JOA & lease negotiations, acquisitions, and broker/surveyor maintenance. Additional experience within his 10 years in the oil and gas industry include 3 years as a field Landman where he worked in the Permian Basin, STACK, and SCOOP plays and 1 year as the Project Manager for a land brokerage. Darren is an active member of OCAPL and has received and RPL accreditation from the AAPL.
Prior to joining Land Information Services Chad served as Director of Marketing for e360 Tour and Marketing. Chad was responsible for brand management, project management, and developing full marketing programs which included websites, budgets and measuring matrix, marketing materials, email blast, corporate events, direct mail and trade shows. Chad continues to work with clients to achieve their goals and objectives set forth in their marketing strategy. Chad leverages these skills to assist all clients in the scope of business process improvement. Chad serves on the Marketing Board of Junior Achievement of Oklahoma.
Land Systems Specialist
Patti started her oil and gas career working as a Lease Analyst at Woods Petroleum, then furthered her career and data skills during her 22 years at Chesapeake Energy, where she attained the position of Senior Director of Land Systems and Lease Records. In this capacity, Patti developed standards for lease and contract, data management for over 1,000 system users. Additionally, Patti acted as the Land and IT liaison and led projects in data conversion, software development, process review and improvement. Patti leverages these skills to assist clients in system conversion, implementation, documentation and business process improvement.
Sr. Database Administrator
John started his career working in Information Technology at Chesapeake Energy where he learned networking, database administration, application administration, and expanding his programming abilities. John furthered his skills in a variety of roles during his 20 years at Chesapeake Energy. John attained the position of Database Administrator Specialist before his departure. In this capacity, John has helped maintain hundreds of database servers with over one thousand databases. John leverages these skills to assist clients with data conversion, system implementation, and application performance and improvement.
Sr. Lease Analyst
Ashley started her career in oil and gas at Chesapeake Energy in 2010 in the Lease Records department. With Chesapeake, she expanded her career and gained valuable knowledge as a Lease Analyst and then as a Regulatory Analyst. Before starting with Land Information Services, she also gained experience in curative research and Division Orders. Ashley has experience in MS Dynamics and Excalibur P2 and LandVantage Land Systems. Ashley grew up in Eastern Oklahoma and is a graduate of Oklahoma State University.
Prior to joining Land Information Services, LLC., In 2009 Michael was the Co-Founder of Oklahoma Document Imaging, LLC. where he was the project site lead responsible for deliverable schedules, staffing, headcount management and achieving clientele growth goals. In 2010, Michael took a Lease Analyst position at Chesapeake Energy. While at Chesapeake, Michael spent significant time producing and tracking special obligation payments, ensuring that check and wire transfers were processed and mailed in a timely manner, and updated systems to ensure current and accurate lease data. Michael moved to Continental Resources in 2012 as a Lease Analyst where he maintained current and accurate lease data in 20 prospects across the country, maintained and calculated rental payments, salt water disposal payments, shut-in well payments and surface obligation payments. His experience has allowed him to become very familiar with several programs such as MS Dynamics, Quorum and LandVantage.
J.B. Akin has developed innovative, custom GIS solutions for several upstream and midstream companies. Specializing in low-cost, yet effective web-based reporting and analytical tools, J.B. designed the auto-mapping feature in the LandVantage application owned by Land Information Services, LLC and used by many companies. J.B. graduated from the University of Oklahoma and earned his MBP in Statistical Analysis from the University of Central Oklahoma.
Prior to joining Land Information Services, Brenda worked 17 years at Chesapeake Energy as a Manager in the Land Administration department where she managed the electronic uploading of leases, electronic payment processes, transfer processes, imaging, owner relations, 1099s, escheat, suspense and document processing. Brenda was instrumental in the development of a “Record Center” which serves all departments. Brenda is an active member of OCAPLTA and NALTA. Brenda has experience in MS Dynamics, P2 Land and Enertia.
Sr Lease Analyst
Charlotte has worked on projects for Stark Technical Group, Devon Energy, GMX Resources Inc. and Continental Resources, Inc. and has developed expertise in State and Federal leases. She received her BBA in Petroleum Land Management from the University of Oklahoma and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Education from the University of Central Oklahoma. Charlotte is proficient in Quorum Land Suite, BOLO, Tobin Land Suite, MS Dynamics and Artesia.
Prior to joining Land Information Services, Layne worked more than 10 years in the Real Property Administration group at ConocoPhillips Company. He gained particular emphasis and experience in data integrity and acquisition projects. As a member of the Real Property Administration organization, he input and maintained company leases and contracts and company owned minerals. The owned minerals project involved organizing all company files, coordinating, supervising, constructing and re-locating the file room operation, and he lead the effort to have all physical records imaged and digitally recorded to about a half million individual files. Layne has experience in Quorum Land Suite, Tobin Land Suite, Tobin Enterprise Land, P2 Land and LandVantage.
Prior to joining Land Information Services, Jennifer was a Land Assistant in the Land Systems Administration department at RedSky Land where she worked on various special projects for Colorado, North Dakota and Pennsylvania Title Managers. She researched and reviewed oil and gas leases and obtained the necessary curative documents needed to execute a lease. Jennifer has experience in PLAN, TitlePro, Tobin Enterprise Land and Quorum Land Suite.
Sr Division Order/Land Analyst
Prior to joining Land Information Services, Abigail was a Division Order Analyst III for Continental Resources, Inc., where she was employed for 8 years. In addition to analyzing DTO’s, DOTO’s, Assignments, and Curative to create and maintain DOI Decks for ISO and OSO in the Mid-Continent and Rockies, Abigail was a member of the conversion team from SSI to SAP. This project involved working with a team from revenue and JIB accounting, conversion team leads from SAP, creating test cases and setting up the processes and procedures for the Division Order Department.
