Performed business process reviews for Land, identified gaps and inefficiencies and led the team through implementation of improved procedures. Participated with PriceWaterhouseCoopers in the design of dashboards to manage well preparation and lease acquisition. Assisted with acquisition implementation through data conversion, manual research and records input.
Apache Energy Corp
Served as subject matter expert to OpenText and Deloitte in the design of an automated AFE workflow. Mapped various interdepartmental processes and system interfaces. Interviewed stakeholders in Houston, Midland, Tulsa, Aberdeen and Calgary to gather user requirements and graphed the process flow.
Advise in the design of Land Administration department organization, reports and procedures. Implement an owner relations ticketing system that includes alerts, document imaging and track all owner contacts, including transfers of interest. Assist DO department in building utilities to leverage SAP and Quorum. Provide lease analyst support for new lease activity, acquisitions and data in-fill projects.
Coached Land Management staff in matters of organization, acquisition, implementation and information management. Designed department intranet website and utilities, including GIS Web and Owner SharePoint site to manage owner record maintenance and communication. Designed and deployed a field data capture system for lease purchase reports, resulting in hundreds of hours saved monthly through in-processing leases. Conducted training for Title and Land practices and developed a slate of quality assurance queries and exercises to identify Lease and DOI data anomalies.
Addax Minerals, LLC
Designed a Minerals Management database and procedures for users. Designed and implemented a web-based field data capture for delivery of leads from the home office to field landmen and contributed to the delivery of executed deeds/leases from the field landmen to the home office in order to cut checks and update the minerals management database.
Linn Energy, LLC
Designed a staging database for input of leases from an acquisition with the final step of converting to the client’s lease record system. Staffed the Acquisition Lease Department and assisted in contract implementation.
Panther Energy Company, LLC
Designed an integrated Land Information System, Panther LandCentral, that includes a lease record database, contracts, well master files, cross-referencing, imaging validation process, web queries and GIS. Converted all existing data from multiple platforms and formulated work plans to infill missing data.
Chesapeake Energy Corporation
Wade reorganized and established core disciplines of Division Orders and Lease Records and eventually expanded the scope of Land Administration to include Well Information, Records Management, GIS and Owner Relations. Noteworthy accomplishments include improving lines of communication between Land, Land Administration and Accounting, creating and managing the Land website, managing several data conversions and establishing a document imaging policy. He embedded Lease Analysts and GIS Analysts within strategic business groups to facilitate better communication and better utilization of company information resources. He created the “Contact Center” to ensure personal response to telephone inquiries and quick resolution by developing several online tools to assist the Contact Center agents. He also developed an educational program that consisted of training by external instructors, in addition to presentations by internal resources.
Chesapeake Energy Corporation
Jim assisted in the design and implementation of a workflow solution which captured acreage cost information for accounting, related to assignment preparation and tracking for Land. He supported the implementation of a workflow solution for Land and Reservoir Engineering which monitored PUD interest by providing a platform to capture ownership and relate the information to Reservoir Engineering, including approvals and other data integrity controls. He collaborated with GIS resources to create and maintain transaction layers to monitor ongoing obligations associated with joint venture and transition agreements. His responsibilities also included communicating transaction terms to cross-disciplinary internal parties to ensure accuracy and compliance with the agreements, supervising business partner projects, management of SharePoints and FTPs and facilitating business partner databases used in due diligence efforts by outside companies and law firms.
